Mission Bermudes
Futuroscope on-ride
CRYSTAL / ICE EVENTS
← All project referencesPreliminary risk assessment of a mechanical tree effect.
SOCOEL assisted CRYSTAL / ICE EVENTS with a preliminary hazard analysis and risk assessment of a “dead tree” structure mounted on a rotational axis and designed to simulate repeated falls, for the Mission Bermudes attraction at Futuroscope in Poitiers, France.
Purpose of the assignment
Identify potential hazards that could lead to unacceptable risk levels and require preventive measures.
The assessment addressed the mechanical tree effect and its associated hazards.
Hazards considered.
Mechanical hazards
Hazards associated with the rotating structure and its repeated falling movements.
Material strength and fatigue
Risks arising from insufficient material strength under static and dynamic loading, including fatigue phenomena.
Electrical hazards
Potential electrical hazards associated with the attraction’s mechanical tree installation.
Structural stability
Hazards associated with the stability of the structure.
