Pre-commissioning checks and electrical safety training.

SOCOEL’s assignment for MELCO – COD Resorts Limited covered compliance checks before commissioning the electrical installations supplying submersible pumps, together with electrical safety training for operators of The House of Dancing Water Show fountains.

SCOPE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

1. Compliance checks before commissioning.

Administrative checks

Verification of the complete existing electrical documentation against the installed electrical systems.
Verification of the calibration of measurement devices used by the special-effects (SFX) department.
Review of modifications made since the last periodic inspection preceding the theatre’s closure.
Confirmation of personnel’s electrical authorisations.

Visual checks

Inspection of electrical installations.
Examination of electrical installations in the pool and the filler, both dry and filled with water.
Inspection of modifications made since the last periodic inspection.

Tests

Testing of residual current devices (GFCIs / RCDs).

Measurements

Transformer insulation measurements.
Insulation measurements on submersible pump cables, both dry and with water in the pool.
Cable-loop impedance measurements on each pump.
